The surgery department consists of a fully equipped surgical suite that allows a wide range of soft tissue and orthopedic procedures to be performed.  Surgical procedures are performed by Dr. Phil Jones and Dr. Gene Frie, and enhanced by the hospital veterinarians, internist, technicians and staff.  Anesthetized horses are maintained under general anesthesia by registered veterinary technicians, and monitored via direct blood pressure, ECG, and blood gas analysis.
