DeRoy White, DVM
Currently resides in Liberty Mounds, OK . Dr. White been a partner/owner of Sapulpa Equine Hospital since 1983. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, his two children, Brittany and Will and his twin grandchildren Ava & Graham.
His hobbies include: ranch sorting, fishing, reading, pistol shooting and travel. He is a member of AAEP, OVMA, TVMA, AVMA, VMG-16, First United Methodist Church in Tulsa and Oklahoma Shooters Association.
His Veterinary Interests vary from preventative medicine, equine dentistry, lameness and reproduction. Born in Louisiana, MO, grew up in Texas, graduate of Aledo High School, Aledo Texas in 1971. Obtained a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science in 1975 and A Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A & M University in 1979.
Gene Frie, DVM
Dr. Frie was born in Cardwel, Missouri and graduated high school there in 1958. He attended OSU where he earned his degree in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Frie has owned and been employed by Sapulpa Equine Hospital for 34 years.
Dr. Frie works with the racing industry and is semi-retired from practice. He enjoys golf and reading and resides in the Jenks area with his wife, Darlene. He is a member of the AVMA, OVMA, AAEP.
Jason Grady, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVIM
Dr. Grady was raised in Chanute, KS. He completed undergraduate and veterinary school at Kansas State University. He then worked as an associate veterinarian at Sapulpa Equine Hospital from 2003-2005, where he gained valuable private practice experience. Following his stay at Sapulpa Equine Hospital he finished a three year ACVIM residency program in equine internal medicine at Kansas State University.
During his residency, Dr. Grady was mentored by some of the most experienced internists, including Dr. Bonnie Rush, Dr. Elizabeth Davis, and Dr. Laurie Beard. He was actively involved in teaching veterinary students and was voted by the students as the 2006 House Officer of the Year and the 2006 and 2008 Mary J. Reed Award for exhibiting compassion to students and patients.
Also during his residency, Dr. Grady worked with horses of many disciplines, including hunter jumper, eventing, dressage, racing and western performance. In addition, Dr. Grady obtained a Masters of Science degree in clinical sciences, conducting research in the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of oral dexamethasone. Following his residency, Dr. Grady successfully completed the rigorous certification examination to become a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. His veterinary interests include neonatology, neurological, respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases.
Phillip D Jones, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVS
Dr. Phil Jones grew up on a small farm in central Ohio. He obtained a Bachelors degree from The Ohio State University in 2000 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2004. After graduation, Dr. Jones completed an internship at Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala FL, one of the largest private practices in the country.
In 2005 Dr. Jones was accepted into the equine surgery residency program at Kansas State University where he underwent arduous training from renowned surgeons Dr. Warren Beard and Dr. James Lillich. During his three-year residency, Dr. Jones initiated a collaborative and extensive research endeavor evaluating a new drug aimed at fighting endotoxemia and sepsis in both animals and humans. Dr. Jones would go on to publish his thesis and obtain a Masters of Science via this work. Dr. Jones also researched and published on a limited surgical technique for pastern arthrodesis that would minimize tissue trauma and maximize strength. Following his residency, Dr. Jones successfully completed the certification examination and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS).
Dr. Jones joined SEH in September 2008. His veterinary interests include endotoxemia, colic, soft tissue, upper airway, orthopedic, wound and reconstructive surgery. Outside of work he enjoys running, riding, playing sports, traveling and spending time with family back home in Ohio.
Dr. Will Selby DVM
Dr. Selby was born and raised in central Maryland, and grew up working around some of the top hunter/jumper show horses in the country. He obtained two bachelor’s degrees from Virginia Tech. Dr. Selby graduated from Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences in 2007.
Following his graduation from veterinary school, he worked in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia at a primarily racetrack practice. Dr. Selby’s professional interests include lameness, sports medicine, and surgery. In his off time Dr. Selby enjoys running and weightlifting as well as spending time with his wife (a small animal veterinarian), daughter, and their six dogs.
